Richie Ashburn: Why The Hall Not? book

If you were at ” The Bank ” last night ( Sun May 1st ) for the Phils and Mets, please leave your thoughts.  I’ve had some great moments at the ballpark over the years, but last night was something special.  The rivalry between the Phils and Mets fans is the stuff of legend.  As the buzz of Bin Laden’s capture and death started to circulate, the chant of U..S..A. got louder and louder, and the rivals became brothers in arms. Hard to Believe Harry……..Phils and Mets fans high fivin’ and cheering together…….you’ve got to love it !!!!!!…………………..jimmy d.

What a great start for the ” Fightin Phils “.  The Aces are doing their thing as expected, but how about Victorino, Chooch, Howard etc.  We miss Chase, but Valdez is more than able to fill the void until he gets back.   For those asking me about the status of the book, we’re getting closer. The cover has been approved, and the book got  nice endorsements  from Tim McCarver and Chris Wheeler.  We’re looking for a July release .  I’ll keep the posts coming…….GO PHILS…..jim

What an opening weekend for the “Fightin’ Phils”.  It’s a shame Halladay couldn’t get the win in the opener, but Lee and Oswalt came up big.  While everyone was focused on our excellent pitching staff, the bats ignited.  Don’t count our offense out !!  The Mets are up this week, ( Tues – Weds & Thurs ), and then the first road trip.  Hopefully, we can keep the NL East in our rear view window.

” Hard to believe Harry “, but yes ! Next week is a new beginning for the Phillies Nation.  Friday April 1st, our journey to the Broad Street parade starts.  This should be a great season, and I can’t wait to start working back at the ballpark.  The book, ” Richie Ashburn…Why The Hall Not? ” is in the final stages with the publisher, and should be in the stores  by early July ( just around the All-Star break ). I believe baseball fans, and Whitey’s fans in particular will really like the book  I know there will be some book signings on the horizon, which should be fun, so stay tuned.  Thanks again, to everyone for your kind sentiments regarding the book project………………jim donahue
