The Week That Was………………….

This has been a crazy, but really great week. Last Saturday I was with my friends at AB Sports @ Concord Mall in Delaware. I got to meet a lot of Phillies and Whitey fans from the first state. Wednesday evening, I was in Media, Pa signing for all the people who came out to support the Media Youth Center. It was a beautiful night, and a great crowd ! Thanks to everyone. Yesterday, I was with the fantastic Poppel family, at their baseball show in Fairless Hills. After all these years, there’s still no one who does it better promoting a show, than Neil, Eric and Adam. Finally, after the Phillies game was rained out, I got to attend the annual Tug McGraw Foundation event at the Plumstead in Media, Pa. Another great crowd for a great cause. Chuck and Dom, and the whole ” Plum” team are amazing. The Tugger would be very proud. Unfortunately, with today’s rainout at the ballpark, the dedication of the Harry Kalas statue will take place Tues at 6:20 PM. I’ll be there. Stop by and say hi !!………………jim

HOLD ONTO YOUR RAINCHECK……..

Yesterday’s book signing (8/3) for the MEDIA YOUTH CENTER was a rainout.  I had a goal in mind for the MYC, but Ma Nature didn’t cooperate, so I’m going to try again next Weds Aug 10th.  Come out to Bryn Mawr Trust @ 22 W State St in Media, and afterward enjoy “Dining Under The Stars” on State St.  I’ll be starting at 5PM  next Weds under the tent in front of Bryn Mawr Trust. See you there !!!!

THIS SATURDAY AUG 6th @ AB SPORTS CONCORD MALL….

This Saturday August 6th, I’ll be signing books at one of the finest collectible stores in the country AB SPORTS at CONCORD MALL in Delaware(302-478-1993). The guys at AB SPORTS are well respected, and it’s great to be working with them on this book signing.  I’ll be there at 1PM on Saturday, hanging out , and talking baseball, so be sure to stop by.  This past week at the ballpark, I had the chance to meet sculptor Lawrence Nolan.  Larry is the man behind the Harry Kalas statue that will be installed at Citizens Bank Park on Sunday Aug 14th @ 1PM. The team is going to put the statue right by Harry the K’s in left field. How long before the refrain will be “meet me by the Harry statue”?

Buy a Book, Help Some Kids………………

My next book signing, is a very special one for me. Weds August 3rd, I’ll be signing from 4:30 til ?? at Bryn Mawr Trust 22 W. State St. in Media, Pa.  This signing will benefit  the Media Youth Center, which supports over 1,000 young people, with it’s various programs.  The Center is headed by executive director Brent Hill, a great man, with a great vision. I’m honored, to think that me signing books can help in some small way. So please, if you’ve been thinking about buying my book, come to Media on the 3rd of August. I’ve set a goal,  what I’m trying to raise for the MYC, so who knows, I might be out there all night, until I reach my goal. On another note, if you have a school group, choir, orchestra, team, etc that could use the help, I’d love to hear from you.  My book signings are not going to raise thousands, but if I could get a few instruments for your orchestra, or get some text books for a classroom, that’s my goal. Contrary to some beliefs, the one who dies with the most toys, isn’t the winner !! Drop me an email, if I can help your group or organization.  Let’s make a change !!…….jim

Thanks To Everyone……

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who came out for the book launch at Sam’s last week. We had over 200 people, and it was a blast!! As promised, my friend Tony Baselice wowed the crowd with his vocal skills, and I embarrassed future generations of my family with mine. We’re going to do it again SOON !! Stay Tuned !!
