What are the chances? This week I went out to San Francisco to visit my daughter. It turned out she bought tickets for Weds game, and it would be Hunter Pence’s first game as a Giant. Since number 3 is a retired number, he was wearing number 8. They have a really beautiful ballpark, but it was CHILLY !!
Can you imagine? Long sleeved shirt, sweatshirt, and windbreaker jacket on Aug 1st !!!
Tomorrow night ( Jan. 30th ) I’ll be at the Phila Sports Writers Banquet, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill, N.J. I’ll be displaying some of my Richie Ashburn memoribila, and discussing my book ” Richie Ashburn…Why The Hall Not? “. Among the guests , Hunter Pence, Charlie Manuel, Claude Giroux and many more. I hope to see you tomorrow …….jim
Hi Everyone, Happy New Year…….. I just finished a week of Winter Classic Hockey at CBP. It was a fantastic time, and we had great crowds at every game. I’m posting a photo from my work station at the ballpark.
This is just a quick “thank you” to everyone who came out to the book signings and other events this year. This has been an experience I never expected, and I’m truly appreciative. I wish everyone a very Happy Holiday Season, no matter how you celebrate. I’ve included in this post an endorsement from a very big Richie Ashburn fan. That’s right, S.C. himself !!!
Although the wound is still very fresh, for my Fightin’ Phillies, I’m going to concentrate on something more positive.
My sincere thanks to everyone who stopped by my booth Sunday in Media, Pa to talk baseball and get a book. Between the book signing and the sales of my sports memorabilia, it was a non-stop day. Thanks!! I’m also posting a couple photos you might enjoy. One is of a great friend of the Richie Ashburn ..Why The Hall Not? ” campaign, Dave Raymond. Dave was the original Phillie Phanatic, and a very good friend of Whitey. The other photo, is after my appearance on the Preston & Steve Show on WMMR 93.3 in Philly. Left to right in the photo: Nick, Marissa, Preston, me, Steve, Kathy & Casey. I’m planning quite a few signings in the next two months, so stay tuned. Thanks………….jimmy d.
This Sunday Oct 9th, I’ll be at the annual Media Food Festival. If you’ve never come to this event, give it a try. The weather’s supposed to be beautiful this weekend, and the event goes on between 10AM and 5PM. I’ll be set up by the Plumstead Inn @ 22 W. State St. I’ll be signing books, talking baseball, and displaying some great Phillies collectibles. Hopefully, we’ll also be preparing for round two of the playoffs. Come out, stop by and say hi………………………..jim donahue
