Today, July 30th , marks the 18th anniversary of Whitey’s Hall of Fame induction. I know he called it one of the happiest days of his life, and as a lifetime Phillies fan, I felt the same way.   As I said in my book, one of the greatest thrills of my life was to call Rich Ashburn my friend.  One of my greatest honors, was to have him call me his friend.   I miss him………………………………jim
